1. Theme
This fantasy tale has the theme of a poor youth who befriends a genie from an
old lamp. The genie granted his requests one by one, starting from making him
rich and able to marry a princess to helping him defeat an evil wizard.
2. Character and Character
The main characters in this story are Aladdin, Jafar, and Jin. Aladin is a
young man who is Even when he has a magic lamp in his hand, he only asks for
what is needed and does not harm others.
Meanwhile, Jafar is an evil wizard who tricks Aladdin into taking the magic lamp. He intends to enrich himself and rule the world with the lamp and justifies any means to get it.
As for Jin, he is a creature capable of making any wish come true. Even so, he only granted the request of the person who rubbed the lamp, which was none other than his resting place. In addition, the characters who are also mentioned in this story are Aladin's mother and Putri Yasmin.
3. Background
The setting of this tale is said to take place in Persia, a place in the Middle
East region. However, according to Richard Burton's version in 1885, the story
setting is in a city in China, which is said to be where Aladdin lives.
4. Storyline
This story uses a forward plot, where everything starts when Aladin is still
poor. He then met a genie who made him rich, got married, and defeated an evil
wizard who almost messed up his life.
5. Moral Message
The message that can be taken from this fairy tale is that humans are not
greedy and do not deceive other people to realize their goals. Learn from Jafar
that bad people who are greedy will have bad luck in the end.
In addition, there are also extrinsic elements, which include
several things. One of them is the cultural background of the people who, in
the past, still used a monarchy system and were led by sultans or kings.
